The Holidays Are Over… Now What? Asking the Right Questions.

The holidays are coming to a close, and you’re ready to get back on track. But where do you even start?

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, you’re not alone. Every January come with a flood of noise. Do this, don’t eat that, cut carbs, burn more calories, start over, reset. But lets just pause for a second, take a deep breath with me.

You don’t need to “reset”. You don’t need to punish yourself and you definitely don’t need to overhaul your entire life overnight. No more starting Mondays.

Today you are going to do something that I consistently tell clients over and over again. Start right where you are, with what you have.

This is your permission slep to take a breath and approach your goals differently this time, not from restriction, but from intention.

You dont need to flip your life upside down to move forward.

You dont need a perfect plan or a clean slate, or a Monday to begin. The truth is, the most sustainable changes don’t come from drastic overhauls. Change comes slowly, it comes from honest awareness and small, intentional choices.

When you give yourself permission to start right where you are, with your current schedule, habits, energy levels and responsibilities something shifts. The pressure eases, the noise quiets and you suddenly start to make lifestyle changes that fit in. You slowly learn to support yourself.

This is where the real work actually begins.

A More Supportive Way to Create Change.

If you have ever felt anxious about starting a program or worried that youll be judged, pushed too hard or told everything youre doing is wrong, I want to clear something up right now. Thats not how I coach.

When working with me, our sessions will begin with conversation not criticism or fixing you.

I use an approach called Strength- Based Coaching. This means that in our sessions we focus on what is going right, not wrong. Building on your wins, even the smallest of them. We build support instead of creating rules and adjust the plan to your life not adjusting your life to the plan.

If youre week is chaotic, we don’t scrap everything and restart, we adjust.

This could look like,

  • Focusing on protein instead of cutting foods

  • Lifting weights 2 days instead of 5

  • Shorter workouts instead of skipping them altogether.

Instead of focusing on whats going wrong, we focus on whats already there, your strengths, your effort, your awareness.

Because change that sticks when it comes from you, not from pressure.

A Different Question to Ask Yourself.

Strength based coaching and motivational interviewing aren’t just things I use with clients; they’re skills you can start using with yourself.

At the core this approach is about learning how to ask better questions. Not questions rooted in guilt or pressure, but ones that create clarity, self-trust and forward momentum.

Most women have an internal dialogue that sounds like”

“Why can’t I stay consistent?”

“What’s wrong with my discipline?”

“Why do I always fall off?”

Those questions don’t lead to change; they just lead to frustration. A more supportive way to create change starts by shifting the question itself.

Instead of asking:

“What do I need to cut out?”

Try asking:

“What can I add that supports the women I want to become?”

This one shift alone can change everything. Taking time to ask the right questions — and giving yourself space to answer them honestly creates real momentum. That’s why I’ve pulled together a few prompts to help you ease into your New Year goals with intention.

Take a moment to sit with these questions. There’s no rush to have it all figured out today. Progress doesn’t come from doing everything at once. Progress comes from building awareness and making intentional choices that actually fit your life.

This season isn’t about fixing yourself or making up for the past few weeks. It’s about moving forward with more clarity, more support, and a better understanding of what you need right now.

Start where you are.
Add what supports you.
And trust that small, thoughtful shifts add up over time.

You’re not behind. You’re just getting started.

Happy Lifting,

Kelley Lynn
